3D Printing for Props & Prototypes
Trade Arts provides full-service 3D printing and scenic finishing solutions for the events, exhibition, and film industries. From rough sketches and blurry references to finished, installation-ready pieces — we bring ideas to life at scale.

What we do
We use 3D printing to produce high-resolution parts, sculptural forms, and functional prototypes. Whether it’s a standalone object or integrated into a larger build, 3D printing gives us speed, precision, and complexity that traditional fabrication can’t always match.
Who its for
- Production designers looking to incorporate sculptural or mechanical elements into hero props
- Art directors and props masters needing precision builds without compromising on finish
- Set decorators sourcing components that require exact fit and visual consistency
- Founders and product designers testing form, ergonomics, and assembly
- Workshops and fabrication teams needing custom parts for integration into larger builds
Why it matters
3D printing allows us to move fast — from concept to part in hours. It enables geometries that can’t be sculpted or machined easily, making it perfect for testing ideas, faking materials, or replicating complex forms repeatedly across a shoot or product cycle.
How we work
We operate both FDM and resin printers to suit a range of build needs — from large structural components to fine-detail surface parts. We print in PLA, PETG, flexible materials, engineering-grade resins and translucents, depending on the performance and finish needed. We support everything from model cleanup to scratch builds using Rhino and other CAD tools.Printed parts can be sanded, primed, painted, or finished by our scenic team to match references.3D prints are often combined with CNC, foamwork, or fabrication as part of hybrid props or functional pieces.
Technical capabilities
We run FDM and resin machines with print beds up to 300mm, supporting detail-focused and large structural builds. We offer slicing, support optimisation, post-processing, and model prep in Rhino or other CAD environments.
